Our friends invited us to a wonderful beach cookout this weekend. Hunahpu even got to see Helen again! He seemed to really enjoy the sounds and sights of the beach, too. Or possibly the smells?

Baby shower
My work crew threw a wonderful baby shower for us this week, and we had wonderful food and presents and company. It was very sweet and gave Hunahpu a chance to bond with all my office friends.
As you can see from his gesturing, we've started serious study of magical arts already, and he's doing really well!

Reentry
We are back in the land of the living humans, being somewhat social once again. This is very exciting, and fun. We start to miss our regular people, and remember how wonderful, strong and supportive our social web really is.
Now that we've made it through the first month, and doing quite well, we will resume some of our more social activities. More visits should be coming soon, and more outings.
The latest outing had some fun fashion stylings, but oddly not the usual nap for the little traveler.

Picnics
Our second day in the hospital, my mom and I went out to get some lunch at the carts just outside the med school and enjoy the sun. We met up with a couple friends (and baby) and had tasty bengali burritos.
The little green space by the medical school is a great place for a picnic lunch, and we've used it a few more times since. When M & D visited we had a great day out in the sun, walking around a lot and then finding the perfect shady spot for our lunch.

Weighty
I finally got the Wii Fit Plus set up going in the newly named 'play room' and had a chance to try out the Baby Stats feature.
Weighing him involves weighing myself first, then picking him up. It has a little Mii for the dude, and tracks his growth. This is handy for us, as almost all our baby items are based on weight instead of age.
Finding out that he was up to 7.9 pounds (2 pounds in 3 weeks, awesome), we passed the threshold for the Baby Bjorn, so we decided an outing was in order.
The great afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed, although he slept through most of it.

Those Feet
This little dude has such an amazing body. He came out a little small, and we worked hard to get the weight on and keep him happily growing. Since his itinerary these days is eat, poop, sleep, repeat, I think it's going well.
Most pictures show his head and face, and those changed a lot during that first week especially. Head shapes, nose formation, eyes opening, cheeks filling in. With all that swaddling though, you don't get enough chances to see the amazing and extended feet that this man is packing.
Some say he will become a swimmer, but I'm holding out for martial arts myself, as karate, judo and aikido practice have meant a lot to me throughout my life thus far. He definitely uses his arms a legs a lot, though it can be haphazard and random. Looks like work on the front kick is coming along nicely I'd say.
